History of Math On

In 2005, two enthusiastic teachers from Bicentennial School, Irene Angelopoulos and Brenda Vaughan decided to take math to a whole new level, by challenging students with problems that use logic and real life applications.

In 2006 the Math Team expanded after Irene and Brenda enlisted the help of Linda Joyce, Susan Wilkie, Andrea Klose, Eva Farmakoulas, Stephanie Barnaby and Antoine Jarjoura. This led to development of three Math Olympiad zone competitions, and one regional competition.

The Math On Team is continuing to work towards making these competitions available to all junior schools in the province.
